Fun at the Park

We are fortunate to have a playground right near our building. It usually takes us a while to get to it because Eric has to inspect every interesting thing we pass on the way. He loves going there and he wishes he was big enough to play on the big kids area. He isn't too sure of the swings but he loves the slide. This last trip he decided that he was big enough to go down the slide without help. It breaks my heart that he is growing up so fast! He gets more independent every day. I guess that is how it is supposed to be.

Hug a Hero

After Elmer left I sent in for Eric's Daddy Doll. Or as Elmer would perfer me to call it an action figure. Doll sounds too girly. Two women thought these up and don't make a dime off of them. They also make bears and blankets. You can even have other family members made up into dolls. It is wonderful because Eric gets to see daddy all of the time and give him hugs. Sometimes I sneak a hug in too. He loves to take Elmer everywhere with him. It is 17 inches which is almost lifesize. Just kidding Mer.

One tired toddler

Well, we were on our way home from an outing and Eric fell asleep in the car. Usually when I get him out of his seat he wakes up and refuses to go back no matter how short his nap was. I brought him upstairs and stood him up in our hallway. I went a few steps to hang up the diaper bag and get my shoes off. When I turned around this is what I saw. Eric was still tired apparently because he laid down on the hallway rug and went back to sleep. I felt like such a bad mom! Don't worry I didn't leave him there but I couldn' t resist these pictures. Just so you know he slept for another 2 hours after this. Must be nice!

Eric vs. The spoon

Well since Eric can feed himself and use a cup we have moved onto the spoon. The fork is pretty easy for him unless he is really hungry or just too lazy to use it that particular feeding. The spoon is a completely different story. He doesn't want any help which results in a huge mess. I am happy to write that he did get quite a bit of yogurt in his mouth which is better than last time. It was after these pictures that I realized that we need a dog. Anyways I hope he gets the hang of it soon.

Deep thought

I went to wake Eric up early from his nap one day because we had an appointment and this is what I found. It looks to me like he has some pretty serious dreams. Who knows he could have the answers to rising gas prices, global warming and why there is a 6 setting on the toaster. That has always bothered me. I have yet to find a recipe that requires burnt toast and lets face it after 3 it is getting kinda crispy. Oh well. I guess we will just have to wait until he can talk in complete sentences before we find out the answers.

Eric and Mommy

I thought that I would post a little picture of us since there are pleanty on here of Eric and Elmer. This is after a night out in which Eric decided that eating in a restaurant is for losers and that causing chaos is better. Needless to say we won't be going out for a while. I see a lot of take out in our future.

Eric and his man purse

Eric found one of my purses and has confinscated it! I may never get it back. He loves to carry it around with him and put stuff in it. He is the one that puts it on his shoulder like that. I personally love how he chooses to accessorize with a mini Star Wars light saber. Perhaps he has to keep some super cool Jedi stuff in that bag that I can't know about. Who knows? I especially enjoy the blackmail benefits of these pictures and yes, I will be publishing them in his highschool yearbook. I love being a mom!
